Sasson Shaulov
ששון שאולוב
Singer & songwriter · b. 1990s
Biography
Sasson Shaulov grew up in Israel's Mizrahi music scene and became one of the leading voices of the 'emuna song' — Hebrew pop built around faith, gratitude and everyday struggle.
His songs travel first through weddings, WhatsApp groups and yeshiva parties rather than radio playlists, then reach millions of streams. 'Od Yoter Tov' became a modern standard sung by religious and secular Israelis alike.
Live, he is known for turning a hall into one voice: the crowd takes over the repeated line 'ועוד יותר טוב' — 'and even better' — as a kind of collective blessing for whatever each person is hoping for.
The lyrics use street-level spoken Hebrew — 'כולה כמה תפילות', 'לא יוצא לי' — next to classic prayer language like רַחֲמִים and רְפוּאָה שְׁלֵמָה, which makes the song a great bridge for learners between the siddur and the bus stop.
