Sing it karaoke-styleThe story behind the song
'Hayiti BeGan Eden' ('I Was in the Garden of Eden') is one of Sarit Hadad's signature ballads — lyrics by the great Israeli lyricist Ehud Manor, music by Shimon Buskila. It pairs simple, very singable Hebrew with a classic biblical image: love as paradise, and heartbreak as the fall from it. Great for learning feeling-words: געגוע (longing), פצוע (wounded), נשמה (soul).
