Shlomo Artzi
שלמה ארצי
Singer-songwriter — Israel's most prolific solo star · 1949–

Biography
Shlomo Artzi was born in Tel Aviv in 1949, the son of a career army officer, and began singing in the army entertainment troupe during his conscription — the classic launchpad for Israeli performers of his generation.
His debut single 'Anakhnu Lo Tzarichim' (1970) was an instant hit and gave its name to his first album; over five decades he has released more than 30 albums and sold over 1.5 million copies, more than any other Israeli solo artist.
Artzi is known for his deeply personal lyrics, raspy baritone and marathon live shows: his annual Caesarea concerts and stadium tours routinely draw tens of thousands and have made him a fixture of Israeli summer culture.
He has won the Israeli Song of the Year and Singer of the Year awards repeatedly, and songs like 'Tirkod', 'Nesi'ot', 'At Mi She'at' and 'Amo Trim' have entered the permanent Hebrew songbook.
