Biography
Idan Amedi was born in 1988 in Kfar Yona to a family of Kurdish-Jewish descent, and grew up writing songs on an acoustic guitar.
He reached the finals of the TV talent show 'Kokhav Nolad' in 2011 and released his debut album soon after; his 2017 album 'Chelek MeHazman' made him a mainstream Israeli star.
Alongside music he became internationally known as Sagi Tzur in the Netflix hit series 'Fauda'.
He was seriously wounded while serving as a combat-engineering reservist in January 2024, and his long recovery — and return to the stage — became a national story in Israel.
